Marilyn Kennedy Retires

Marilyn Kennedy of the circulation department and our 3rd Vice-President, is retiring this month. She has been a long time guild member and friend to all at the Commercial Appeal. She will be missed. We wish her all the best in all she will be doing next.

About the scholarship. . .
The Memphis Newspaper Guild created the Daniel Pearl Scholarship at the University of Memphis in 2004 to honor the memory of Pearl. The Wall Street Journal South Asia bureau chief was kidnapped and murdered by Pakistani militants in 2002. He was a Guild member before his overseas assignment.

Danielle Wilburn and Meagan Nichols are the recipients of the Daniel Pearl Scholarship that was awarded in April of 2012.

You should check out the photo album for our 75th Birthday. See everyone's costume.
